Admission Update: Benue State University (BSU) 2024/2025 Academic Session
We are pleased to inform all candidates who applied for admission into Benue State University (BSU) for the 2023/2024 academic session that the FIRST LIST of admissions into undergraduate programmes has been released. This list has been approved by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Below are the important details and guidelines for successful candidates.
1. Admission Confirmation and Acceptance
- Accepted Candidates: All candidates whose names appear on the FIRST LIST should have already accepted their admission and printed their JAMB Admission Letters on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
- Pending Acceptance: Candidates yet to accept their admission offer on the JAMB portal are advised to do so promptly.
2. Admission Verification Fee
Candidates must confirm their admission status on the BSU portal by paying a non-refundable Admission Verification fee of N1,000.00 using the e-payment procedure.
3. Acceptance Fee
Admitted candidates are required to pay an acceptance fee of N20,000.00 using the e-payment procedure.
4. User-Charges Payment
Successfully screened candidates by the Academic Office (online) should proceed to pay their User-Charges using the e-payment procedure.
5. Next Steps for Screened Candidates
After paying the User-Charges, candidates should revisit the portal and:
- Login Credentials: Use your JAMB number as your default username and password.
- Password Update: Change your default password (use at least 8 characters, including upper/lower cases, symbols, and numbers).
- Profile Update: Fill out the pre-bio-data form and update your bio-data under the “My Profile” menu.
- Course Registration: Click on the “Registration” menu to register for semester courses.
- Print Documents: Print out your Admission Acknowledgement Slip, Course Registration, and Screening Forms. Complete the forms appropriately and proceed to the designated offices for signing.
6. Guidelines for E-Payment
To make payments, follow these steps:
E-Payment Procedure
- Visit www.bsum.edu.ng.
- Click on the E-PAYMENT link to open the Payment Form.
- Select the programme and payment category. Enter your Registration Number and select the session or semester as applicable.
- Click on “Generate Payment Reference” to generate a payment number.
- Click on the link to proceed.
Payment Options
A. Cash Payments at the Bank
- Print your Payment Reference Number slip from the University portal.
- Take it to any of the following banks to make the payment:
- Fidelity Bank Plc
- Zenith Bank Plc
- ECO Bank Plc
- Guaranty Trust Bank Plc
- Sterling Bank Plc
- Diamond Bank Plc
- First Bank of Nigeria Plc
- United Bank for Africa Plc
- Unity Bank Plc
- Union Bank of Nigeria Plc
- Skye Bank Plc
- The bank will process your transaction and generate a Payment Receipt for you.
B. ATM Payments
- Visit any ATM machine with your ATM card.
- Select Quickteller from the ATM menu.
- Select Pay Bills.
- Enter the Payment Reference Number generated from the E-Payment platform.
- Use 04255101 as the Payment Code.
- Enter your GSM number and complete the transaction.
- Return to the portal to print out your Payment Receipt.
C. Quickteller Online Payments
- Visit www.quickteller.com/bsum.
- Enter your Registration Number, email, and mobile number, then click “Continue”.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete your payment.
- Print out the payment confirmation slip.
- Return to the portal to print your Payment Receipt.
Important Notes
- Admission status checking, acceptance of admission, document upload for online screening, school fee payments, and course registration will take place between Tuesday, 14th May – Friday, 24th May 2024.
- Forgery Warning: Forgery of any kind will result in automatic withdrawal of admission and possible prosecution.
- Supplementary Admissions: Candidates whose names are not on the FIRST LIST should note that supplementary admissions are being processed.
- Result Upload: Candidates yet to upload their O’Level/A’Level results on the JAMB portal are advised to do so immediately to facilitate the processing of their admission.
