This is to inform all candidates who applied for admission into Benue State University (BSU) for the 2024/2025 academic session that the FIRST LIST of admissions into undergraduate programmes has been released, as approved by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Important Admission Instructions
All candidates whose names appear on the FIRST LIST are required to accept their admission and print their JAMB admission letters on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
Candidates yet to accept their admission on the JAMB portal should do so without delay in accordance with JAMB guidelines:
There shall be a grace period of four (4) weeks within which all approved admissions must be accepted by the candidates, failing which such admissions will be deleted, and the candidate placed under the “failure to accept” category, making them ineligible for admission in the current admission cycle.
Steps for Admission Confirmation and Registration
- Confirm Admission Status: Candidates should check their admission status on the BSU portal by paying a non-refundable Admission Verification Fee of N3,000.00 using the e-payment procedure.
- Payment of Acceptance Fee: Admitted candidates must pay an Acceptance Fee of N25,000.00 via the e-payment procedure.
- Online Screening: Successfully screened candidates should proceed to pay their User-Charges as provided by their respective faculties using the e-payment system.
- Portal Login and Course Registration: After payment of User-Charges, candidates should revisit the BSU portal, log in using their JAMB Registration Number as the default username and password, then:
- Change the default password to a new secure password (8 characters with upper & lower cases, symbols, and figures).
- Fill out the pre-bio-data form and update bio-data under “My Profile” menu.
- Click on Registration Menu to register for semester courses.
- Print the Admission Acknowledgement Slip, Course Registration Form, and Screening Form, and proceed for signing at designated places as indicated.
E-Payment Guidelines
Candidates must follow these steps to make payments:
A. Cash Payments at the Bank
- Visit BSU Portal.
- Enter your UTME Registration Number and click on “Confirm Details”.
- Scroll down and select ADMISSION CHECKING under Payment Category.
- Click on “Generate Invoice” to obtain a Payment Number.
- Click on Pay Cash at the Bank, print your Payment Reference Number Slip, and take it to any commercial bank for payment.
- The bank will process your transaction using College Pay and issue you a payment receipt.
B. Payment Using QuickTeller (Online Payment)
- Click on Pay via QuickTeller at www.quickteller.com/bsum.
- Enter your UTME Registration Number.
- Provide your email and mobile number, then click “Continue”.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete your payment.
- Print the payment confirmation slip.
- Return to the BSU portal to print your Payment Receipt.
Important Notes
- Checking of admission status, acceptance of admission, online screening, payment of school fees, and course registration commences on Tuesday, 18th March 2025.
- Candidates who engage in forgery will face automatic withdrawal of admission and possible prosecution.
- Candidates whose names are not on the first list should note that supplementary admissions are being processed.
- Candidates yet to upload their O’level/A’level results on the JAMB portal must do so immediately to enable the University to process their admission.
JAMB Deletion Policy Reminder
Candidates are strongly advised to adhere to JAMB’s policy, which states that any admission not accepted within four (4) weeks will be deleted, and such candidates will be ineligible for further admission consideration in the current cycle.
