So you’ve crossed the 100 level line — no more “fresher” tags, no more getting lost looking for Lecture Hall B (hopefully). Welcome to 200 level, the middle child of university life. You’re not a JJC anymore, but you’re not exactly an OG either. It’s that awkward transition phase, like puberty… but for your academic journey.
Now, if you’ve spent even two weeks in 200 level, chances are you’ve already encountered these 10 legendary student types. And if you haven’t — you might just be one of them. 👀
1. The “I Know Everybody” Connector
This one moves like a politician.
“Ah ah, that lecturer? My mum knows him na!”
They’ve got one plug in every department, from photocopy shops to the girl who sells eggrolls outside Hall 2. Whether you need a past question or a last-minute sign-in on the attendance sheet — they’ve got you.
2. The Front Seat CEO
Rain or shine, 7:00am or 7:01am — this one is already seated in the front row. Notes complete. Jotter arranged. Hand raised.
They even remind the lecturer of tests you were all praying they’d forget. Smh.
3. The Upcoming Billionaire
By 200 level, they’ve launched at least two businesses: hair, data, shoes, laundry, “imported” clothes from Lagos (aka Dugbe Market).
They’re everywhere except class, but somehow still pass. How? Nobody knows. God’s mysterious ways.
4. The Fashion Influencer (On a Student Budget)
Forget assignments, they came to slay.
Matching outfits every day. Braids on point. Sunglasses in the rain.
Their wardrobe is sponsored by “keep borrowing from roommates until you’re caught.”
5. The Group Work Ghost
This one is a legend. Never shows up for group meetings, yet expects full credit when it’s time to submit.
They’ll text: “Heyyy, hope you added my name sha?”
Brother, we don’t even know what you look like.
6. The “I’m Not Supposed to Be in This Course” Type
Forever regretting their JAMB choice.
They’ll remind you daily:
“I actually wanted to study Law, but JAMB did me dirty.”
My brother, two years don pass. Accept your destiny.
7. The Overthinker
Small test: 3 questions, 10 marks.
Them: “Omo I’m finished.”
Their “finished” still ends up as 88/100. Please avoid them before they infect you with unnecessary panic.
8. The Lovebirds
They sit together. They walk together. They gist together.
It’s giving “Mr and Mrs 200 level”.
We’re not sure who’s studying who, but we pray they both graduate. 🙏
9. The “We Go Run Am” Guy
Every time you talk about schoolwork, it’s the same reply:
“No worry, we go run am.”
Missed a test? “We go run am.”
Assignment due yesterday? “Still dey run am.”
Sometimes I wonder if this guy thinks he’s in Fast & Furious.
10. The Aspiring Honourable
By now, they’ve declared for SUG, started a WhatsApp campaign group, and printed 2,000 flyers with their blurry passport.
They greet everybody, even the goats grazing behind the faculty building.
“Vote for Progress. Vote for Change.” We dey hear you.

Final Words
Whether you’re the connector, the ghost, or the fashionista, just know 200 level is a vibe of its own. Embrace it, learn, grow… and most importantly, don’t fail borrowed courses. 😭
